Bluefin Tuna Tenerife – (Thunnus thynnus)
In recent years Bluefin Tuna in Tenerife, the Canary Islands have enjoyed steady, dependable and long term visits from this pelagic, schooling and highly migratory species. The smallest fish form the largest schools and vice versa. The giant tuna can exceed the 1000 lbs. mark – and you are sure to get the daily exercise done if you hook up one of these.
Bluefin Tuna Spain
All Atlantic Bluefin Tuna are released as they are strictly protected by local and international laws.This is the largest tuna and one of the largest true bony fish. It can be distinguished from almost all others by its rather short pectoral fins. During spawning which occurs in the summer or spring, a giant female may shed 25 million or more eggs. Bluefins grow rapidly and may be 2 ft (0.6 m) in length and weigh 9 lb (4 kg) by the end of their first year. By age 14 they may be over 8 ft (2 m) long and weigh 700 lb (318 kg).
What do tuna eat ?
Its diet consists of squid, mackerel, flying fish, sardines, and smaller bonito.

Such Magestic creatures. This is the most powerful fish you can catch in the ocean. They can weigh over 1000lbs and the average size here in the Tenerife is about 700Lb at the moment. Although the fish didnt come in record nymbers, we are doing really good releasing at least one or more of these beauties every single day.

We made an Offshore Grand Slam with Yellowfin Tunas, Albacore tunas and this PB Bigeye on the same day πͺπ½π―
That last minute bite that you donβt expect after a good day of fishing, when you are already getting the lines in in the darkβ¦
And of course you do get the biggest fish on the smallest rod of the setup π
This time on the @howkfishing Invictus and a 30 Lb reel, we got almost spooled by this fat guy but we managed to land him after 2:30h. Unpredictable moves and a really tough fight.
