White Marlin and Spearfish are a pelagic and migratory species usually arrive around the same time as the blue marlin – though it tends to be more abundant later in the season.
Top rated light tackle game fish, the white marlin and Atlantic Spearfish can be caught by trolling with a variety of artificial lures. Live bait fishing with mackerel and sardines has also proven to be successful as it can be easier to hook the smaller marlin specimens with circle hooks.
They feed on whatever species are locally abundant – and often feed quite aggressively.
